Battery Safety Policy
Document Number: ARA-SALES-LEG-005 | Version: 1.0
Effective Date: 03 July 2026 | Approved By: Director
1. Purpose
This policy provides important safety information for the handling, charging, storage, transport and disposal of lithium batteries supplied with or for RC products sold by Aussie Rigs Arena. Customers are responsible for using batteries safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
2. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
3. Safe Charging
Always use a compatible charger designed for the battery type. Never leave batteries unattended while charging. Charge on a non-flammable surface away from combustible materials. Do not overcharge, puncture, crush, short circuit or expose batteries to excessive heat or fire.
4. Safe Use & Storage
Stop using a battery immediately if it becomes swollen, damaged, overheats, leaks or emits an unusual smell. Store batteries in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Where practical, use a suitable fire-resistant LiPo safety bag or storage container.
5. Children
Lithium batteries are not toys. Adult supervision is recommended whenever batteries are charged or handled by children.
6. Transport & Delivery
Lithium batteries are classified as Dangerous Goods for transport and are subject to carrier and regulatory requirements.
Where required by law or the transport provider, batteries may only be shipped when installed in equipment or packaged with equipment. Some standalone batteries may be subject to additional restrictions or may not be available for express or air delivery.
Delivery options, transit times and destinations may vary depending on the battery type, watt-hour rating, courier requirements and applicable transport regulations. Aussie Rigs Arena reserves the right to change the delivery method to comply with safety and transport requirements.
7. Inspection on Delivery
Please inspect your delivery upon arrival. If the package appears damaged or the battery shows signs of swelling, leakage or physical damage, do not use the battery. Contact Aussie Rigs Arena immediately before attempting to charge or operate it.
8. Disposal
Do not dispose of lithium batteries in household waste. Dispose of batteries through an approved battery recycling or hazardous waste collection facility in accordance with local regulations.
9. Liability
Aussie Rigs Arena is not responsible for damage, injury or loss arising from misuse, incorrect charging, modification, improper storage or failure to follow manufacturer instructions, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
